Amazon Fire Stick has been widely adopted by consumers for casting to TVs and displays. As that happens, more businesses and organizations are also using it as a digital signage tool, with staff using Fire Stick at work the way they do at home.
As digital signage advances further into the 21st century, more technologies are becoming available to end-users. One of the latest media player and operating system options available for those looking to implement digital signage is the Amazon Fire Stick. We recommend the Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max.
Rise Vision recommends the Amazon Signage Stick instead of Amazon Fire Stick or Fire TVs due to its affordability, performance, reliability, and built-in Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities. The MDM feature allows users to easily manage and control their displays remotely, ensuring device and application updates. The Amazon Signage Stick is purpose-built for digital signage and integrates directly with Rise Vision.
The Amazon Signage Stick is currently only available in the United States. You can purchase it here.

With the release of the new Amazon Signage Stick, Amazon Fire Sticks and Fire TVs should not be used for digital signage moving forward.

With so many solid digital signage technologies to choose from, why choose Amazon? Let’s go over some of the Amazon Fire Stick's benefits:
At $54.99 per Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Amazon Fire Sticks are one of the least expensive options for any school or organization looking to design a digital signage system. Most digital signage media players range between $250 - $1,000 which can be a budget buster.
As Amazon Fire TV Stick improves every year and with its <$100 price range, stick-style media players are definitely going to shake up the digital signage world going forward. Chances are we’ll be seeing a lot more small HDMI plug in play style media players in the coming years.
The Amazon Fire Stick is relatively small in size. It’s designed to plug into the HDMI port of a TV or digital signage display. This is advantageous when it comes time to install your digital signage system because traditionally, digital signage media players tend to get stowed in cabinets or above ceiling tiles.
The small size of the Amazon Fire Stick and ease of installation is a godsend for IT staff as it makes it much simpler to set up and requires fewer hours of work. An equally important benefit is it reduces the need for IT staff to need ladders during installation. Fewer ladders mean fewer workplace injuries - which makes it a no-brainer for all departments involved.
No mice. No keyboards. One wire.
Traditional digital signage media players come with several components. For installation teams this has always translated into more installation time, equipment management, and packaging to deal with.
IT staff love the simplicity of the Amazon Fire Stick and the quality it provides. You’ll never hear technicians complaining about less “stuff” to keep track of. Plus, less cardboard and plastic is simply a better environmental footprint!
Amazon products are manufactured with a high level of quality and rarely have failure issues. This is important because most digital signage campaigns run 24/7, 365 days a year. It’s important that any digital signage hardware you choose is high quality because it will save time and money in the long run. Remember: A large organization that begins to experience faulty digital signage hardware will end up multiplying their technician hours and equipment costs quickly. It’s imperative that quality equipment is procured from the onset.
“We use Rise Vision to display marketing videos, safety videos, consumer The vividness of the displays and "pop" they have on our tv's is impressive. It is like an ad one might see on tv. This is not a fancy power point. It is on a whole different level.”
We recommend getting the Fire TV Stick 4K Max to ensure your digital signage can be broadcasted at the highest possible quality. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is quite affordable and much less expensive compared to most digital signage media players on the market today. It’s also the only Fire Stick model that can deliver clean video to 4K digital signage displays and TVs.
If you already have a Fire Stick or Fire TV you can use them with Rise Vision if they are running Fire OS 7.
You can use an extension cord to give you the length required to reach the nearest electrical socket. One issue with this solution is that extension cords can be fairly heavy. The weight of the extension cord can disconnect from the power adapter causing your digital signage to go down.
In this case, we recommend securing the extension cord with velcro tie-downs to the TV or digital signage display to remove the weight component from the power supply connection. However, sticky tape tie-down interfaces can weaken over time, so use zip ties to fasten the extension cord to any built-in loops provided by the TV or digital signage display.
Another option is to use a USB cord that is long enough to reach the nearest electrical socket. The main advantage of this solution is the weight component of the USB cord will be greatly reduced compared to a traditional extension cord.
It’s important that if you decide to use a long USB cord that you purchase a high-quality cord since you’ll be using it for continual power. Inexpensive cords may have a short lifespan and if you have dozens of displays, you’ll be doing a lot of maintenance (not to mention increased signage downtime). Also, be sure you buy the correct USB cord with the appropriate end connections.
Finally, even though a USB cable is much lighter than an extension cord, it is possible that it’s just heavy enough to disconnect the power supply over time. It’s also susceptible to being yanked and tugged causing it to get disconnected. With that said, we always recommend going the extra mile and fastening cables to the TV and other surfaces to isolate any loading that can cause disconnection.
